The philosophical principles of a free society based on individual liberty and the free market are seldom taught in our schools and at our universities. These principles are now under attack as never before. Politicians of all parties, encouraged by ill-informed media commentators and pundits are presiding over a massive extension of state power in response to the "financial crisis".
The classical liberal and libertarian traditions provide us with the means to understand why the growth of the state will fail to produce security, freedom and justice both in the developed and in the developing world.
Freedom Alliance wishes to inspire the classical liberals and libertarians of tomorrow with the knowledge, the network and the conviction to defend freedom. With the help of a number of prominent free market think tanks, prominent academics and donations from selfless individuals, we organise seminars for promising students. Freedom Week is an annual one week seminar at Cambridge University, where eminent academics discuss the principles of a free society; and where students are able to form a network with eachother, the academics and the think tanks - which will help them to advance the principles of freedom in their future careers.
