The philosophical principles of a free society based on individual liberty and the free market are seldom taught in our schools and at our universities. These principles are often portrayed as selfish and contrary to the common good.
More than two centuries ago Adam Smith showed us that freedom achieves precisely the opposite. If each
individual is allowed to pursue his or her own interest, the whole of society, as if driven by an invisible hand, will be better off. Socialists want to distribute the pie more fairly. Free maketeers want to make the
pie grow so there is more for all.
Freedom Alliance wishes to inspire the free marketeers of tomorrow with the knowledge, the network and the conviction to defend freedom. With the help of a number of prominent free market think tanks, prominent academics and donations from selfless individuals, we organise seminars for promising students. Freedom Week is an annual one week seminar at Cambridge University, where eminent academics teach freedom; and where students are able to form a network with eachother, the academics and the think tanks - which will help them to advance the principles of freedom in their future careers.
